TONY DINKEL IS READY FOR NEW ASSIGNMENTS

Tony Dinkel, the veteran "go-to-guy" for KFI engineering,
is gone -- fired for no apparent reason just one day shy
of being on the job for 29 years. The following newspaper
tribute to Tony's success says it all. He's one of those
special guys we all wish we had in our stations.

Now we can help Tony by throwing a lot of work his way,
temporary or permanent. Tony can be reached at (714) 717-
3808 or by e-mailing tonydinkel47 (at) hotmail.com

 NOTES FOR RADIO

o NAB urges FCC to show a little caution with LPFM rules:
 http://tinyurl.com/NAB-on-LPFM
 http://www.radioink.com/Article.asp?id=2460612&spid=30800

o The comments filed in the FM booster "zonecasting"
proposal (CGC #1134) are curiously quiet on one important
point: Boosters are notorious for creating multipath
interference. Boosters must be meticulously engineered,
and even then they may not work well:

 GENERAL NOTES OF INTEREST

o The nation's biggest cable operators are banding together
to offer free Wi-Fi access to their broadband customers in more
than 50,000 hot-spots around the country:
