DETAILS ON THE THIRD STOLEN REPEATER FROM RED MOUNTAIN

CGC Communicator newsletter #1157 reported on two
government-owned radio repeaters that were stolen from Red
Mountain in Fallbrook, CA recently. However, a third repeater
was also stolen and the details have just become available:

o Stolen: One Vertex VXR-9000VC/100 watt repeater,
serial number 6I340022. (The 100 watt amplifier has its
own serial number of 6K060047.) Repeater input of
154.540 MHz, output of 151.550 MHz.

This equipment is owned by the Fallbrook Union Elementary
School District and was installed on 9/5/07 by Airwave Service
Co. who provided us with the above information.

Please keep your eyes open at swap meets and on-line for
any sign of the stolen equipment. If it is located, contact
Detective Ashkar at the San Diego County Sheriffs Dept.,
(760) 451-3100, case number 12137190.

  PREDICTING SOLAR FLARES

A curious hypothesis, supported by empirical data, is
that radioactive decay rates are influenced by the season
and by solar activity. Wait a minute! How could this be?

Read on, and find out about the claim that "the decay rate
of a radioactive sample changed slightly beginning 39 hours
before a large solar flare."
