MT. WILSON POWER UPGRADE - PROGRESS REPORT
Quick update for the next couple of steps in the plan:
(Today), June 29, we will be converting the backup service
to Ch 11 & 13 to the new 16kV system.
Thursday, July 6, we will be converting the services at the
Ch 28 & 52 buildings, on the east side (which may affect a number
of other services - KKLA, KSCA). This work should begin early AM
(7-8 am) and take around 20-24 hours to complete. A crane will
be used to remove the old transformers and install the new ones.
The next steps are not definite, but likely to be the
conversion of KABC on July 11 and then some work along the main
road to replace some existing cable later that week, which
shouldn't require any customer outages. Then more customer
outages the week of July 17 (likely on Tuesday and Thursday),
but I'm not sure which ones right now....
