STOLEN COPPER WIRE IMPACTS FREEWAY LIGHTING
AM radio station ground systems are not the only thing
being targeted by copper thieves. These guys are getting more
aggressive and at an alarming rate! Here in California they have
begun stealing copper wire from freeway lighting systems and are
apparently not worried about being seen by passing motorists.
The second link below describes a sting operation that puts
the whole thing in perspective.
