LETTER FROM THE FOREST SERVICE - STORM CLOSURES
I am suspending the permits in Big Tujunga Canyon -
The permits above the LA County Gate Closure (Clear Creek
Ed Center) will be suspended at 4 AM on Sunday when the gates
are closed by the County.
The permits that are below the LA County Gate Closure
(i.e., Big Tujunga Rec Cabins) will be suspended at 5 PM on
Sunday.
These suspensions have no bearing on private property in
Big Tujunga Canyon but private property owners need to be aware
of the locations of the gate and the closure time of 4 AM Sunday
morning.
At this time I am not suspending the permits for Red Box
or Millard Cabins as I have been informed that the occupants
will be out of the permit area when the rain hits.
I am assuming that Mt. Wilson and Mt. Disappointment
permittees have already topped tanks, etc. for the potential
of up to a week of no access to their sites.

[Editor's note: Mr. McIntyre has issued two formal letters
that we are in the process of Web-posting. At first glance,
these letters deal with Clear Creek and cabin permits and
are not related to Wilson/Harvard users.]
