Instructions for TEX-20/30 Crystal Replacement/Upgrade:

Carefully remove main board from chassis. Note orientation and layout of plug-in cables.

Desolder defective crystal, resistor (if present) and thermistor. Install new crystal. Do not ground case to circuit board. Leave a small amount of clearance between base of crystal and printed circuit board. Position resistor on circuit board near closest ground eyelet on circuit board and solder firmly. DO NOT OVERHEAT! Place thermistor clip over crystal. Solder one end of thermistor to circuit board. Position resistor in upright position and solder the other lead of thermistor to free lead on resistor. Make sure that no connections short against the case.
