Modifications for Stereo Broadcast

The sound modulator is initially hard wired with pre-emphasis enabled. In order to disable pre-emphasis for wide band stereo broadcast, you must follow these procedures while refering to pages 5-11 and 5-12 in the technical manual:

1. Remove and discard C34 (15 pF) which is located

next to pin 5 of IC4 in the sound modulator.

2. Replace C79 (1000pF) with a 100pF capacitor.

3. Clip pre-emphasis jumper next to C33.

Note: Steps 1 and 2 are permanent modifications and need not be reversed if pre-emphasis is re-enabled in the future by replacing the jumper.
