ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS – TFC2K Circular Polarized FM Antenna

Parts Shipped: (per antenna bay)

1 Feed Strap
4 Arms
1 Feed Element
1 Mounting Bracket

Note that antenna arms are marked “1”, “2”, “3” and “4”. Arms 1 and 2 mount opposite each other. Likewise Arms 3 and 4 mount at the end of the antenna, opposite each other. The feed section has been scored to help in positioning the arms. Make sure you mount each arm in its correct location or the antenna will not work properly.

Make sure that the arms are tightened securely and evenly.

After the mounting the four arms, the feed strap should be mounted loosely to the feed bracket. Note that the strap fits between the two cooper washers. The strap may have to be gently bent to fit properly at all three points of contact. Take care not to strain the center feed line. Tighten all contact points without straining any of the mounts.

Mount antenna clear of any obstructions on a pipe or tower leg up to 4″ O.D.

Connect the feed line to the antenna. Make sure that there is no undo strain on the antenna and that there is not any type of mechanical bind.

Energize the antenna at a very low power level to check for open circuits, shorts or other errors. Slowly increase the power level watching both forward and reflected power.
Reflected power should always be 10% or less of forward power or damage to the transmitter and/or antenna may result. When properly installed VSWR should be less than 1.5 to 1 across the FM band.
